Problem with home security system? We recently moved into a house with an older security system called "safe house"... We do not use it nor is it armed. the security code is set to the manufacturer code. For some unknown reason, the alarm went off today. I was able to put the code in and the alarm turned off, but what could have caused the alarm to go off without reason? it is not armed. We have never used it. i was thinking of somehow turning the power off to the system and was wondering if anyone knew how to do that. I do not want it to go off again without any apparent reason. |

Do I need a landline if I have a monitored home security system? Are there other options?A landline would be more economical, but they do make cellular transmitters that do the job - most businesses usually employ both, so in case in the event the landline is cut or otherwise out of service, the alarm can still report to the monitoring station. |

Why do ADT and Brinks home security commericals only show white men breaking into homes?I know huh? And they only have white families homes being broken into on top of that. Good question. Maybe they don't want to appear racist like the other guy said, because there are white robbers too. But at the same time not just white people's houses get broken into. |
Home Security systems/cameras? Someone broke in? My mother has saved $2 bills for years, a while back they came up missing, and she can't find them. She had them in one spot, but she was rearranging furniture, and it questioned her that she may have misplaced it. But by now, she would have found them. She also had a ring missing months ago, and she hadn't moved it. Well, that bothered her, but she thought MAYBE her husband did it, but she didn't think so. Anyway, now she has this safe (she's had it since I was a kid) and it got broken into, the knob was busted and everything. She called me freaking out. What are some home security systems (the lower cost/good quality kind) Also, we were wondering about the nanny cams, where can you get those? She doesn't want to get both a home security system And a nanny cam, but she would like something that would comfort her. Or even cameras, she wanted something you couldn't tell, but if someone has broken into her house, I don't guess it'd matter too bad, I mean we would like the best input.? She can afford some things, but she can't afford a whole lot. So we'd like the best thing. |

How do I disconnect my home security alarm?I have a home security system that was installed by the previous homeowners. A while back, it started going off at random intervals throughout the day, for no apparent reason. We tried disconnecting it, with no luck, and ended up having to turn off the circuit breaker it's attached to. This would be fine, if that particular circuit breaker didn't also control the electricity to the bathroom and my bedroom (no lights, no outlets, etc). Does anybody know how I can turn this GD alarm off once and for all?? Thanks in advance! |
How does AARP choose the company's that they endorse?My grandmother believes that AARP researches each company's product, to be sure it is the best,in its field (cellphone medical alert system, home security systems,etc,before they will endorse it for the senior citizens.I believe that AARP endorses company's based on the most money paid to them,for their endorsement. We would love to know how they choose the products that they are recommending to seniors,who trust in their endorsements Thanks |

Do you have any good ideas about where to put a promotional and/or sales booth?I am working for a company that is giving away high quality home security systems.
